Long time!

It's been awhile since I blogged. Seems like I just didn't have anything to say. It's been a busy and fun spring. A trip to Scottsdale with the Stavishes was fun. It was so nice to have sunshine and very warm temperatures. Getting ready to go to Nebraska this weekend to celebrate Mother's Day.
Wanted to show everyone the cute bird mobile I made for Jack. Making the birds is fun. Never know how they will look. We took it out and hung it in Jack's room this afternoon. He was sleeping so will have a surprise when he goes to bed tonight....! Here are some pictures of the mobile.

Babysitting Jack!

Valentines Day's-Steve and I volunteered to watch Jack while Hannah and Mike had a evening out. All went well. Little Jack is such a good baby. He was awake for awhile just chilling and looking around. He and Grandpa played with the Leap Frog caterpillar. Then before I knew it they both got tired and fell asleep. They both slept soundly until right before Hannah and Mike arrived back home. Jack was hungry and let everyone know it! We had a bottle in the refrigerator but Mom was just minutes away so we waited and danced around the living room until she arrived. It was a fun evening and hope for many more. Maybe in the future the guys will stay awake awhile longer.

January

Yes, January is the month of new resolutions and new beginnings. We are all waiting for a new beginning! Awaiting the arrival of Jack our first grandchild! It's an exciting time for sure!
Steve and I are entering a new stage in our lives. We have been together for a "longtime". Lets see we start dating in high school so that would be ...37+years. He's the only one I have eyes for. He's been there with me through ups and downs. Always with a plan and able to pretty much figure anything out or build anything I might mention I would like. He even likes to go golfing with me and always make me feel like I may someday be able to hit a golf ball. So, here's to you Grandpa Steve. You'll always be #1 with me. PS to Anni thanks for the inspiration!

A New Year!

The snow melted in Portland and Meredith made it home to celebrate Christmas a week late. She got home late afternoon on New Years Day. She also brought Gregg Miller with her. He arrived from New York the day after Christmas. He arrived to be greeted by the whole family. They left today for Portland as Gregg leaved tomorrow to fly back to New York. We had a good visit and Meredith showed Gregg all the local points of interest.

All the Christmas decorations came down this afternoon. Steve helped before his sprained ankle swelled up too much. He was golfing this morning and slipped on an icy sidewalk. Was still able to play the remainder of the 14 holes. He's sitting now with it elevated and iced. We were hoping to go cross country skiing tomorrow but.....will have to see how the ankle is doing in the morning.

Only 28 days until Hannah's due date. We are all anxiously waiting for Little Jack to arrive. False alarm this morning at 530am when Mike's phone accidentally called me. Got me all nervous that the little guy was coming early!!! Hannah was at the hospital ....but working!! Stay tuned for further updates. The doctor says he about 6 1/2 pounds now. They gain about 1/2# /week. So he could be a big guy!..

Quiet Christmas in Oregon

Yes, it was a quiet holiday. Meredith didn't make it home this year due to snow in Portland. Steve and I were going to drive up and pick her up but found that the roads were not in the best shape. So, we had to call Meredith and tell her that we were not going to make it. This was the first year she didn't make it home for Christmas. We missed her.

Hannah thought she would be working but the census was low at the hospital so she was able to stay and celebrate with us.

Christmas Day Hannah, Alison and Steve went up in the mountains and let the dogs run in the snow. It think they all had a good time. I stayed home and cooked the rice pudding. Mike joined us for Christmas Day dinner after working the day shift.

All is quiet now the dogs and Steve are sleeping.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Yes it's December!!!!

Yes the snow that has been predicted for 2 days finally arrived!! It's really beautiful till tomorrow morning when it will be ice I'm sure. I may not make it to boot camp at 5am. Hard to believe a week ago we were golfing in 65 degree weather. This week it's not going to get above 32 degrees. Or so says my son-in-law the meteorologist. It's starting to look alot like Christmas!!!
